A goal of the Good Food Bucks program is to bring more corner stores on as participating partners. Having the Good Food Bucks program at smaller grocery and corner stores across New Jersey means more families have access to discounts on fresh fruits and vegetables in their neighborhoods, at a variety of retail sites. So far, we were incredibly grateful to have A Better Market join the Good Food Bucks program in the Fall of 2024! A Better Market is a “healthy corner store” located in Paterson, NJ.
For more information about A Better Market check out their website.
In the last few months of 2025, six new corner stores are joining the Good Food Bucks program! Three of these stores are located in Atlantic City - Brighton Grocery and Produce, Deshi Bazaar and Produce, and Madina Grocery and Produce. In Newark, Our CommUNITY Grocery Store powered by Clinton Hill Community Action has joined the program as well. Lastly, Phillipsburg Fresh Stop Market located in Warren county is our fifth addition to the program, rounding out the program's newest corner store partners! Now there are 7 corner stores, and 18 supermarkets across New Jersey where shoppers who use SNAP can get discounts on fresh produce with Good Food Bucks. Deshi Bazaar and Produce is owned and operated by Shahjalal and Shaid Soyel and has been serving the Atlantic City community for the last 13 years. They have a wide variety of offerings from produce, and prepared food, to meat and seafood. They also carry a wide variety of international items so you can get everything you need. If you buy fresh produce from their store with SNAP, you can get 50% off your purchase with Good Food Bucks.

Madina Grocery and Produce is a small family-run grocery store committed to providing fresh produce to the local community. They offer a large variety of fruits and vegetables to accommodate the everyday needs of their valued customers. At this store, if you buy fresh fruits and vegetables, you will receive a 50% discount off your fresh produce purchase.
Brighton Grocery and Produce is a local corner store offering a wide variety of items from fresh produce to meat, cheese and dairy products. They will be operating the Good Food Bucks program by offering a 50% discount for purchases of fresh produce when shoppers use SNAP at checkout.

Our CommUNITY Grocery Store is a community grocery store operated by Clinton Hill Community Action. This store, located in Newark, is not only a grocery store but a community gathering space with the mission of giving back to their community and creating opportunities. Our CommUNITY Grocery Store partners with local businesses and farmers with the goal of increasing access of local New Jersey goods to people in urban areas. Not only does this bring farmers and local businesses to customers, it strengthens our local economy and food system. At Our CommUNITY Grocery store, a 50% discount will be applied if you buy fresh produce using SNAP!

Phillipsburg Fresh Stop Market is a unique store with a mission to increase the accessibility of fresh, locally grown produce. This market offers a 50% discount on fresh produce when customers shop with SNAP as well as a farm share with a sliding scale payment system. You can pay with SNAP and Good Food Bucks for a farm share! A farm share is like a subscription for local produce. You pay for a box of locally grown produce which can be picked up at the market. Here is a link to their website to learn more about how the system works. The farms that grow food that support the market and farm share are Cabbage Throw Farm, Two Barn Farm and Old Village Farm.
“Our goal with the Good Food Bucks program is to bring affordable fruits and vegetables to as many communities in New Jersey as possible. These partnerships with healthy local corner stores help further achieve this goal by bringing affordable, healthy produce to communities that have historically lacked sufficient access to large-scale grocery stores. All of our corner store partners in Paterson, Newark, Atlantic City, and Phillipsburg care deeply about their local communities and offer high quality selections of locally grown produce, and we are incredibly grateful for their partnership in this program.”
Robbie Economou, Good Food Bucks Manager

These six stores are a great addition to the wide variety of partners in the Good Food Bucks program. Bringing on more stores to the program increases this nutrition incentive program's reach to more customers. The purpose of the Good Food Bucks program continues to be increasing access to fresh produce to people in our state and adding these stores aligns with that goal. It’s very exciting to have these five stores in the program!
