NJ State Government Increases the Minimum SNAP Benefit

With federal SNAP Emergency Allotments, households have been receiving a minimum benefit of $95 per month or the maximum benefit for the household size. All SNAP benefits will return to pre-pandemic, regular monthly benefit amounts, starting in March 2023.

To partially offset the federal termination of SNAP Emergency Allotments, the state of NJ has increased the minimum SNAP benefit to $50 per household beginning this month (January 2023). Read the press release here or find out more on the NJ SNAP webpage.
