One of the newest Good Food Bucks partners is Metuchen Farmers Market! Located in the Town Plaza between Pearl Street and New Streets, this farmers market has become a community staple. The Metuchen Farmers Market's mission is to support local food access, benefit local farmers and businesses, and bridge connections in the Metuchen community.

Every Saturday between 9am-2pm, from June through late November, you can find amazing vendors selling all sorts of items like local NJ grown produce, a variety of meats, pickles, and pastries, and fresh cheese waffles inspired by Colombian pandebono or enticing crunchy plantain jibarito sandwiches. There is so much variety at this market, and every week there may be something new to try or to see!

The market is run by Nelson Li, the Market Manager; Christine von der Linn, President of the Board of Trustees; Jacqueline Ho, VP and Marketing Coordinator; and Jamie Balancia, The SNAP/Good Food Bucks Coordinator. These four are extremely passionate and dedicated to seeing the success of Metuchen Farmers Market. As you walk around the market, you can feel and see the level of enthusiasm that they have for their community. If you are at Metuchen Farmers Market, stop by the market manager's table and check out the resources they have on the table. They also offer knife sharpening services to fundraise for the market.

At the market, shoppers can also pay with SNAP and FMNP! Taking benefits such as these helps make the market more financially accessible to more groups in the community. And with Good Food Bucks, you will be able to buy more fruits and vegetables every time you shop with SNAP! If you use either of these benefits, go by the market manager's table and they’ll be happy to give you assistance.

In addition to running the market, Metuchen Farmers Market helps to support food access in Metuchen and throughout Middlesex County. They are very involved in supporting a local food pantry at the First Presbyterian Church of Metuchen through both weekly produce donations from the farmers and a drop-off basket at the manager’s table. They also do some targeted marketing in Perth Amboy and Plainfield to increase awareness of the market and Good Food Bucks. Metuchen Farmers Market is truly a cornerstone of its community.
